Young people today face huge pressures; an image conscious society, where what you look like is more important than who you are, the relentless pressure to succeed academically, family breakdowns and the availability of drugs and alcohol. All these factors make the journey into adulthood more difficult and treacherous. Young people growing up today need our help and support. They are a product of our society and must not just be written off as ‘hoodies’ and ‘yobs’. This is where Guildford YMCA comes in…
We have a fantastic track record working with vulnerable young people. We believe that everyone has the potential to become a positive force within their community. Our team of dedicated staff and volunteers create a place where everyone belongs and feels respected and accepted. Our projects help to support, develop and inspire young people – and we are committed to being there for every step of their young journey, for as long as they need us to be. |

"We depend on organisations such as the YMCA to enable highly disadvantaged young people to escape a life of poverty of mind, body and spirit and develop the potential they all have."
